Advancing Audio Masterclass is inviting music and sound professionals from Nairobi and beyond to attend for its 2025 event that will take place in the Kenyan capital at the International Christian Centre on October 14–17.
This is the second edition of the initiative that seeks to bring mentorship and a shift in professionalism in an industry that deserves and cares for growth. In 2023, the first-ever masterclass had over 200 attendees from across the country.
Tickets to the event are available here.
“For this year’s event, we aim to increase the number of attendees and provide a compelling and comprehensive masterclass event like never before,” Advancing Audio Masterclass marketing and social media manager Oliva Amabani said. “We believe that together we can make this year’s event become one of the region’s greatest audio training events ever seen.”
About the masterclass
The event brings together industry experts and touring professionals from the United States to Nairobi, Kenya, where the event is held, to train, mentor, and speak on their experiences as professionals to a group of young emerging and professional engineers in the East African nation.
The event will be held in October 2025 for four days, consisting of extremely immersive sessions on the first three days and culminating with a concert experience as an avenue to showcase newly acquired skill sets with the guidance of our mentors.
The enthusiasm of the audience and guests fuels our spirit to continue the annual event and make improvements in all aspects every year.

The inaugural masterclass
The inaugural masterclass in 2023 was a first of its kind in East Africa – a multi-day event where international presenters with exceptional experience and incomparable skills in audio converged for knowledge exchange.
“The response from the attendees was mind-blowing and we received rave reviews from the materials and concepts taught over the four-day event,” Ambani said.
“I learned so much about teamwork and collaboration. I also gained great interest in audio systems engineering and RF coordination,” Michael Njau, a Masterclass 2023 attendee, said.
In anticipation of the main masterclass event in October 2025, the organisers have decided to put on a series of online and in-person mini masterclasses with some of the industry’s leading engineers. These mini masterclasses have been a huge hit with our community, where they have been afforded unprecedented access to world-class engineers in intimate settings where they can ask questions and be mentored virtually and physically.
