Doller shares BAD GYAL ft. Sincerely Keane video

North London Dancehall legend Doller is sharing a music video for his latest track, a collaboration with rising East London rapper Sincerely Keane titled ‘BAD GYAL’, released on September 30th, 2024 via the Beyond Dis World imprint. The track received support from tastemaking magazine Notion.

Doller has made waves with his dynamic sound and compelling performances. His presence has graced MTV Base adverts, showcasing his talent to a wider audience. He gained further recognition with his track ‘Skadoosh’ featured in the film Sket, solidifying his status in the industry.

Doller has toured internationally, including a notable stint in Dortmund, Germany, alongside UK-based Jamaican reggae singer Cblock and has headlined major events like the Hackney Social’s Wynters Wonder List and the Sing for Me Tour with British grime MC, rapper, songwriter and actor Ghetts.

Doller’s music has been featured in online publications such as Wordplay Magazine and GRM Daily and has also received regular airplay on BBC Radio 1Xtra with prominent DJs such as DJ Target, Sian Anderson and Seani B championing his tracks. His song ‘This Year’ earned BBC Track of the Week in 2021, further cementing his influence in the UK Dancehall Grime scene.

Dorante Johnson, influenced by his musical family, including his roots reggae singer father Kush Tafari and dancehall deejay Uncle Flash, emerged in the North London grime scene as Doller. He gained early experience through DIY mixtapes and local clashes, co-founding the crew Cold Blooded.

Doller joined the supergroup The Movement, where he gained recognition from prominent DJs and showcased his talent in a celebrated Westwood freestyle. Expanding his reach, he collaborated with artists like Sir Spyro and Tion Wayne while developing his label, Go Getters and a culinary YouTube series.

Recently Doller has embraced diverse genres such as rap and R&B, showcasing his versatility in singles like ‘Money Song’. Citing Vybz Kartel, 50 Cent, Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, Durtty Doogz, Jodeci as his wide pool of influences Doller crafts a sound in ‘BAD GYAL’ sure to be enjoyed by fans of both Dancehall and Hip Hop giants such as Popcaan, Vybz Kartel and Biggie.

‘BAD GYAL’ is a cheeky, lighthearted track that celebrates attraction to confident women, featuring Sincerely Keane and Doller’s energetic verses admiring confident, curvy, tattooed fashionistas, all set to an irresistible island groove with smooth Rhodes keyboards and a captivating bass line.

The accompanying video, shared on the DOLLER official Youtube channel, is fittingly fun and playful. It features shots of Doller and Sincerely Keane rapping and singing as they dance with and serenade the beautifully fashionable, tattooed women that they are celebrating.

The pair shared: “The inspiration behind the ‘Bad Gyal’ video is we wanted to tell a realistic story of two fly guys creating a good vibe around two ‘Bad Gyal’, pun intended. We wanted to bring the song to life by ensuring the video matched the mood and feel of the song.”
