American Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Eric Bellinger has released a single titled ‘My Decision’ in collaboration with American-Nigerian R&B singer Rotimi.
The unapologetic anthem for living life on your own terms comes with a new music video showcasing Bellinger and Rotimi in a carnival-themed beach hangout, perfectly embodying the song’s free-spirited and adventurous theme.
Commenting on the single, Bellinger said: “This song is about living your truth, taking control of your life and decisions without having to justify them to anyone.”
Rotimi added: “It’s a track for everyone who’s ever felt the need to just be themselves, unapologetically. I am excited to link up with my brother on this bold track and my first collaboration of the year.”
The storyline captures a one-sided take on a relationship, where one partner feels it’s their prerogative to be where they want to be and make their own decisions. It’s a bold narrative that challenges the dynamics of relationships and highlights the balance between personal freedom and commitment.
This new single is the first release off Eric’s upcoming album It All Makes Sense, the deluxe version of his acclaimed It’ll All Make Sense Later (2024) that was created in Cape Town in collaboration with a diverse group of African artists and producers.
Bellinger describes It All Makes Sense Later, a seamless blend of R&B, amapiano and Afrobeats, as “an album born from a faith walk in unfamiliar territory and a testimony of how good things can get when you take a chance on yourself.”
Just like the title suggests, It All Makes Sense is an introspective album where Bellinger will continue to push boundaries and explore new sonic territories, side by side his signature R&B sound. The African features on its predecessor gave fans a glimpse into his growth as a global artist, bridging continents and blending genres in a way that feels both innovative and authentic.
