Rising independent Tanzanian artist Itaré steps into a new era of greatness with the release of his self-titled debut EP, Itaré — a bold artistic breakthrough that marks a defining moment in his evolution and a powerful declaration of who he is becoming, cementing Itaré as a musical pioneer breaking free from convention.

The seven-track EP is a masterful fusion of Afrobeat, R&B and global contemporary sounds, woven together with Itaré’s signature emotional depth. The EP feels expansive yet intimate, with each track offering a cinematic, soul-charged experience that showcases his ability to move seamlessly between genres while staying authentically Tanzanian at the core.

The EP brings together some of the continent’s most exciting voices, including Kane Keid (South Africa) and Tanzanian rap OG Joh Makini on ‘Where You Want’, Remee (India) on ‘Dangerzone’, WurlD (Nigeria) on ‘Whine’ and Tshego (South Africa) on ‘Milele’, each elevating the project while also enriching Itaré’s unique sound through a seamless fusion of cultures and styles.

Reflecting on the EP, Itaré shares: “This project is the embodiment of who I am as an artist. I come from a place where certain expectations shape how music ‘should’ sound, but I chose to break past those limits. These songs are my truth — inspired by Africa, shaped by the world. Working with collaborators who share that vision made this journey unforgettable.”

Taking things even further, Itaré will also release a short film, offering a deep dive into the inspiration behind the EP. This cinematic project will capture his artistic essence, the stories behind the songs and his relentless pursuit of musical evolution.

Itaré is more than a collection of songs — it’s a movement. It’s a new chapter for Itaré and a sound of a new generation embracing boundless creativity, uniting diverse influences and pushing African music onto the global stage.

Hailing from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Itaré’s music can be described as a captivating fusion of Bongo flava, Afropiano, soul and R&B. As Itaré continues to make waves and evolve his music, he’s on a promising journey to becoming a household name in Tanzania and beyond, all while staying true to his dynamic sound and devoted fan following.

‘Biggie Money’ and ‘Tough Luv’ are some of his earlier tracks that lit up playlists, quickly making a name for himself in the music scene. His rapid rise hasn’t gone unnoticed, with established artists like Chino Kidd, Iyanya, Wurld and Kane Keid taking note, signalling that he’s a rising force to watch.
