Kenya, a growing hub for sustainable business in Africa

The inclusion of Kenyan leaders in the MB100 shines a light on Nairobi’s fast-developing sustainable business ecosystem. Kenya’s entrepreneurs and corporate leaders are harnessing innovative strategies to tackle problems as varied as waste management, financial inclusion, and sustainable agriculture.

Through panel discussions, interactive workshops, and peer networking, the event spotlighted how Kenyan businesses are advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and nurturing an environment for impactful change.

Kenya Climate Ventures chairman Eric Kimani gives his keynote address during the inaugural MB100 Kenya tour in Nairobi.

“The 2024 MB100 awardees exemplify the transformative power of purpose-driven innovation, demonstrating Kenya’s leadership in building resilient, equitable and sustainable futures. Their work is not just inspiring, it’s a blueprint for the kind of inclusive growth Africa needs to ensure that communities thrive, the environment is protected and economic opportunities are accessible to all,” he said.

By recognising and amplifying the work of these leaders, Kenya is setting a precedent in Africa for how businesses can drive economic development while addressing broader societal needs.
