At the Algerian Production Fair 2024, which began on December 19, 2024 Midea, a global provider of air conditioning solutions, introduced its innovative technology specifically designed for North African consumers, including those in Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and beyond.
The Midea Residential Air Conditioner Division (Midea RAC) presented solutions designed to address the region’s demand for stable, durable and high-temperature-resistant air-conditioning products, complete with anti-corrosion features.
A standout product at the exhibition was theTropical 3, which attracted considerable attention due to its exceptional capability to operate continuously in temperatures as high as 60°C. This feature establishes Tropical 3 as a dependable, comfortable, and eco-friendly choice, perfectly encapsulated by its slogan: “Tropical King, Epic Cooling.”
The reliability of Tropical 3 is highlighted by its ability to operate seamlessly in extreme heat, thanks to the innovativePrimeGuard HYPER GRAPFINS technology. This advanced coating represents a breakthrough in corrosion resistance, outperforming traditional golden coatings by a factor of five.
The black graphene coating not only provides long-lasting protection, lasting 20 to 50 years depending on environmental conditions, but also improves heat distribution, releasing heat 31% faster than conventional methods. Additionally, it significantly reduces water vapour by 92.5% compared to aluminium foil.
The product’s reliability is further enhanced by features including wide-range voltage operation, an intelligent dusting switch, Ice Circuit Tech, E-box Air Grid Enlargement and an innovative ventilator design.
Comfort is another key aspect of Tropical 3’s appeal. It operates at a whisper-quiet 20dB(A), ensuring minimal noise disruption. The incorporation of High-frequency Racer Tech and Stepless Comfort technology contributes to a seamless and pleasant user experience. Its minimalist and unique design, combined with the Wind Avoid Me function and Active Clean Technology, guarantees that users enjoy a comfortable and hygienic environment.
In terms of eco-friendliness, the Tropical 3 features an energy-saving mode and gear shift capabilities for efficient energy use. The Midea SmartHome App further optimises settings, enabling users to customise their cooling experience while minimising environmental impact.
Xavi Xiong, Midea RAC’s regional director for Africa, emphasised that the company’s offerings extend beyond mere products. They represent comprehensive solutions tailored to the African market, aimed at providing communities with long-term, sustainable cooling solutions.
