MultiChoice has launched two Kenyan TV shows set to debut on Maisha Magic Plus – the second season of Shanga and the debut of a new telenovela Lulu.
Following the dramatic Season 1 finale, Shanga returns with more intrigue, danger, and emotional turmoil. The new season delves deeper into the tangled lives of Ledama (Brahim Ouma, Pepeta), Soila (Foi Wambui, Subterranea), and Kari (Zazira Kariuki, Salem) as they navigate the perilous secrets of Lemurat and Nairobi. With Naibei (Sam Psenjen, Mission to Rescue) vying for control and buried truths threatening to unravel their world, the stakes have never been higher. Will love withstand the ultimate test, or will ambition tear them apart?
Speaking during the exclusive premiere at Shamba Café in Nairobi, Shanga executive producer Njoki Muhoho of Zebra Productions remarked: “This season takes everything you love about Shanga to the next level. With unexpected twists, complex relationships, and the highest production quality, we are confident fans will be hooked from the season premiere.”

Shanga Season 2 premiered on April 22 on Maisha Magic Plus (DStv Channel 163 and GOtv Channel 3), airing Monday to Friday.
Lulu: A tale of crime, betrayal, and greed
The event also witnessed the launch of a new telenovela Lulu, a twisted tale of crime, betrayal, and greed that takes viewers into the opulent world of the Tindo family empire, from the creators of Zari.
At the heart of the story is Amara Tindo (Angie Magio, Selina), a formidable matriarch who discovers that her husband Hudson Tindo (played by radio personality Nick Odhiambo) plans to annul their tumultuous marriage for their maid Anita (played by Nungari Kiore, Jiji).
This revelation triggers a series of events, leading Amara to take drastic measures, unaware that her family’s wealth is built on an illegal drug business. As she assumes control of her husband’s empire, Amara faces betrayal, power struggles, and the ultimate test of loyalty within her family. Will she survive, or will it all come crashing down?
A Jiffy Pictures production, Lulu features a stellar cast, including Brian Ogana (Maria), Ronald Ndubi (Zari), Ciku Muchiri (Second Family), poet and spoken-word artist Mufasa (Single Kiasi), Mwamburi Maole (Mission to Rescue), KalashaAward winners George Mo (Pepeta) and Lydia Gitachu (Black & Blue), Lorna Lemi (Salem) and Naomi Mburu (Kina).
Executive producer Rashid Abdalla expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “Luluis a bold and gripping tale that explores the lengths people go to for power, love, and survival. We wanted to create a story that captivates audiences with its intensity while reflecting the complexities of ambition and family dynamics.”

Look out for Lulu coming to Maisha Magic Plus starting Monday, May 5 at 8.30pm. Lulu will replace Zari, whose finale episode airs on Friday, May 2 at 8.30pm.
