MultiChoice Kenya is celebrating a remarkable achievement at the Women in Film Awards (WIFA) 2025, following multiple wins across key categories for its productions airing on Maisha Magic and Showmax.
Now in its sixth year, WIFA honours outstanding contributions by women in the Kenyan film and television industry, recognising excellence in directing, producing, scriptwriting, cinematography, and more.
This year’s edition, which took place on March 8, saw MultiChoice Kenya’s shows and talent receive well-deserved recognition, showcasing the company’s continued commitment to empowering women in the creative sector.
Among the highlights of the night was Abigail Arunga’s Best Scriptwriter (TV Drama) Award for Showmax’s adult drama 4Play, and Yvonne Wanjiku’s gong for Best Scriptwriter (Film) for When the Gods Argue.
MultiChoice Talent Factory alumni Linda Dina (Class of 2024) and Audrey Egesa (Class of 2022) also shone during the gala event, capturing the Best Sound Designer and Best Newcomer Producer trophies, respectively, for their Maisha Magic projects.
Speaking on the recognition, MultiChoice Kenya managing director Nzola Miranda reiterated the company’s commitment to fostering opportunities for women in the film industry.
