Nairobi to host Jazz edition of Women in Music Concert Series

Nairobi jazz music enthusiasts are in for a special treat as Women In Music Concert Series will be hosting a jazz concert on Friday December 6th 2024 featuring Kenyan trumpeter Christine Kamau and German Jazz saxophonist and Singer Stephanie Lottermoser.

The two jazz instrumentalists met at Jazzahead festival in Germany earlier this year, where Kenyan trumpeter Christine Kamau had been featured alongside two other jazz acts from the continent to showcase jazz music from Africa. Women In Music Concert Series – Jazz Edition is partly supported by the German cultural organization, Goethe Institut.

“It is wonderful to collaborate on this jazz concert with Stephanie Lottermoser, one of the top female jazz acts in Germany. We hope that this live music collaboration will contribute to strengthen the cultural exchange between Kenya and Germany,” said Kenyan jazz musician Christine Kamau.

Christine Kamau is a Kenyan jazz musician who has performed internationally including on UNESCO’s Jazz Women In Africa, New York Festival of New Trumpet Music and in countries like Nigeria, Zanzibar, Rwanda, Cameroon, Uganda, Tanzania and Ivory Coast.

Stephanie Lottermoser is a renowned German jazz musician with an illustrious music career spanning six solo Jazz albums and a busy music performance schedule that has seen her tour various parts of the world.
