Kenyan singer, songwriter, and producer Njerae is set to release her largely anticipated EP Four Letter Word on February 14, 2025.
Njerae says that the release perfectly syncs with the month of love, giving her fans earworms to include on their playlists as they celebrate with their significant others.
Four Letter Word drops shortly after Njerae was absorbed into Apple Music’s Africa Rising Stars’ class of 2025 to represent Kenya and East Africa.

On the project, Njerae explores the human love experience as a whole. The EP has four tracks – ‘Fight for You’ (produced by Wondamagik), ‘Beg for It’ (produced by Kobby Worldwide), ‘Decide’ (produced by Vic West), and ‘Hypnotize’ (produced by Kobby Worldwide).
The ‘Queen of Love’ released ‘Beg for It’ on January 17th as a teaser to what is to come in the EP. The release peaked at No. 36 on Apple Music Top 100 Kenya and became a favourite Kenyan sing-along song, with fans seamlessly jamming to it in different event spaces where Njerae has performed it.
Her music explores the emotions that one has when they are in love with someone else and resonates with many lovers, lovers-to-be, and those on the sidelines too.
“I wanted to create a body of work that not only talked about intimate love but also the whole experience, from love, lust, obsession, and social interactions,” says Njerae.
She added that sonically, she experimented so much in her earlier body of works, and there is a stark difference between her 2024 EP Out with the Old and Four Letter Word. With this EP, she is getting back to her original version while blending the artistic abilities of the three producers who worked with her.
“In this project, I am going back to my roots, writing songs that follow my original style. This music is a fusion of what I have learned experimenting over the years while working with different artists and producers alongside my original style.”
The EP is Njerae’s first body of work in 2025, and the ‘Aki Sioni’ hitmaker has teased the music video for ‘Beg for It’, which is also dropping on Valentine’s Day, with a lineup of other projects and live performances throughout the year.
With a degree in psychology, Njerae, whose music identifies as Afro-indie with a touch of R&B and soul, hopes to one day open a counselling centre where music will be used as a form of therapy.
