Vertiv appoints ALKAN CIT as channel partner to drive ICT growth in Egypt

Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, announced the appointment of ALKAN Construction and Communication Networks, a subsidiary of ALKAN CIT, as a Vertiv partner program diamond partner in Egypt.

As the highest level within the Vertiv partner program – diamond partner, ALKAN will offer the Vertiv power and cooling portfolio and will be able to access benefits including a bespoke sales and marketing plan with increased rebates, market development funds and individual support.

With a successful history of delivering end-to-end network solutions and complementary construction services across the Middle East and Africa, ALKAN’s significant local expertise and market influence are pivotal in Vertiv’s expansion within Egypt’s rapidly growing ICT sector. The organization plans to leverage its partnership with Vertiv to penetrate the local data center industry.

According to CEO of ALKAN Construction and Communication Networks Eng. Tamer Wahba, the partnership with Vertiv will help to enhance ALKAN’s capacity in delivering robust digital infrastructure solutions, particularly in telecommunications – where ALKAN already has a well-established track record – and data centers, which are both critical to Egypt’s national strategy for digital transformation.

Wahba explains that Egypt is seeing a significant increase in demand for data center infrastructure, driven by the rise of cloud computing; e-government initiatives, with the country’s national strategy emphasizing digital transformation across sectors like education, healthcare and government services; and the need for localized data storage.

“Our partnership with Vertiv allows ALKAN to offer more advanced and scalable solutions, as well as enhanced services, boosting our ability to meet the evolving digital demands of Egypt’s ICT sector,” said Wahba.

“With Vertiv’s expertise in power, cooling and edge computing, we’re better equipped than ever to support these growing requirements, as well as to address power reliability challenges within the region, providing state-of-the-art, energy efficient solutions that allow reliable energy and optimized performance for Egypt’s digital future.”

By leveraging Vertiv solutions, ALKAN can help customers to deploy IT infrastructure closer to end users, improving service delivery and reducing latency, which is vital for supporting loT, smart city initiatives and real time applications, he says.

Enterprise sales director for North East Africa at Vertiv Ehab El Hefnawy.

“We are thrilled to welcome ALKAN Construction and Communication Networks as a local Vertiv Diamond Partner. The company’s strong reputation and influence in Egypt’s ICT sector makes it an ideal partner to help customers and to accelerate our market presence within the area. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with ALKAN and driving significant growth together in Egypt and the broader region,” said enterprise sales director for North East Africa at Vertiv, Ehab El Hefnawy.

To officially launch the channel partnership to the Egyptian market, ALKAN Construction and Communication Networks showcased Vertiv’s solutions at its booth at the Cairo ICT 2024 event, where visitors were able to experience immersive virtual reality (VR) demonstrations, using the Vertiv XR App and Vertiv Virtual Showroom.
