#WeWatchKenyan lines up four psychological thrillers

It’s Halloween again, and MyMovies.Africa™ has curated a selection of four short locally produced psychological thrillers for its next edition of #WeWatchKenyan featuring a Question & Answer session with the cast and crew in Nairobi this Saturday, 2 November from 6pm.

The seventh watch party for the year, #WeWatchKenyan with MyMovies.Africa™ also has a new Home, at HMP Lounge, eighth floor, Westlands Business Park, off Chiromo Lane, Nairobi.

Created by YAKWETU™, #WeWatchKenyan with MyMovies.Africa™ is a monthly watch party aimed at promoting local film and content, as well as building a community of Kenyan creatives who actually watch Kenyan content.

The four short films this month, are:

87TH VICTIM:  James (Dantez Mwendwa) thinks he’s found the perfect connection, with a mysterious beauty (Tamara Mercy); but as their worlds collide, the line between reality and fantasy starts to blur.  Is his mind playing tricks, or is something darker at play?  Dive into this psychological thriller, officially selected for top Film Festivals worldwide.

SOMEWHERE TO STAY:  George (George Mo) is desperate for shelter, but when Vaishali (Vaishali Morjaria) shuts her door, his simple request turns into a dangerous Game of Survival.  As desperation mounts, so does the tension, leading to a shocking confrontation that will leave you Breathless.

THE COLLECTOR:  Lisa (Abbey Ambani) is thrilled by her latest find – a rare and ancient doll.  But her Excitement quickly turns to terror, as eerie unexplainable events begin to haunt her home.  What sinister force has she unleashed?  Get ready for a spine-chilling night of Suspense.

WHEN IT RAINS:  Ethan (Tevin Kitau) is caught in a personal storm, with his demons threatening to tear apart the love he shares with Emma (Gloria Maguithi).  As secrets are laid bare and trust is broken, can their love survive the darkest of times?  Brace yourself for an emotional rollercoaster that explores the raw depths of love, betrayal and redemption.

“Psychological thrillers are a rare genre for films from Kenya, so #WeWatchKenyan with MyMovies.Africa™ is proud to provide them a platform,” say Mike Strano, co-Founder, chief operations officer of YAKWETU™.  “On our panel are some writers, directors, actors and producers pioneering this genre in Kenya.  They are generously sharing their secrets for success, with our audience of students, professionals and fans.”
