World Rum Day – A celebration of rich heritage and diverse flavours of rum

Every 2nd Saturday of the month of July, Rum enthusiasts across the world come together to celebrate the diversity, unique flavors, craftmanship and the rich history of what has become a versatile and rapidly evolving spirit across the world.  World Rum Day is a day that highlights and support the richness and history of rums and distilleries across the world.

This year marks the 6th anniversary of annual World Rum Day established by spirits writer Paul Jackson in collaboration with rum bars, distilleries, rum brands and spirits writers across the world.

The history of rum is strongly intertwined into the fabric and traditions of the Caribbean region and has over the years witnessed increase in consumption in many parts of the world including the African continent and Kenya in particular. Rum is a major category within distilled spirits and its one of the fastest-growing categories in the spirits industry.

Captain cola

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Add 50ml of Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold.
  3. Fill the glass to the top with cola. Squeeze in a wedge of lime!

Captain ginger

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Add 50ml of Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold.
  3. Fill the glass to the top with ginger ale. Squeeze in a wedge of limeto cut through the ginger!

Captain lemonade

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Add 50ml of Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold.
  3. Fill the glass to the top with lemonade. Squeeze in a wedge of lemon for extra zestiness!
